Term 2, 2010 - Abstract Painting Course 2
Tuesday Morning,
9.30 - 12.30pm for 8 weeks, beginning Tuesday 27 July 2010. Child care available on-site.
There will be four weeks of classes and then a one week mid-term break including Monday 23 August and Tuesday 24 August and then a further four weeks for each class.
Previous workshops and classes have been fully booked. Places are limited to ensure small class sizes and so that students receive individual attention.
Please book early to avoid disapointment. Enrolments are only accepted on receipt of payment. Your name can be added to the waiting list once a class is full.
PAYMENTS

Payments from credit cards are only accepted by PayPal if you have a street address listed as the billing address for your credit card.

CANCELLATION
A full refund is only available if notice of your cancellation is received more than two weeks from the commencement of the class. This allows us sufficient time to offer the place to another student.
About Jane McKay
Jane McKay is a Perth based artist with over
15 years painting and 25 years teaching experience with degrees in both education and fine art. She has exhibited throughout Australia and in New York and Hong Kong. Jane has had 19 solo exhibitions in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Los Angeles, Kyoto and Singapore.
Her works are held in public and private collections within Australia and overseas and she has been the recipient of 11 grants from local, state and federal government. Her work includes painting, sculpture, jewellery and public artworks.

Explore creative approaches to abstract, acrylic painting inspired by a variety of starting points including the landscape, line and shape. Experiment with colour and composition to resolve issues with your paintings and bring them to completion.
Demonstrations will present a variety of acrylic techniques and methods you can use in your work. Suitable for absolute beginners or more experienced painters wanting to develop their skills.
The long term aim for those wishing to continue with this class is to develop works for a group exhibition to be held in November 2010.
Acrylic Colour Workshop - One day course Sunday, 5 September 2010, 10am to 4pm Cost: $95
The mastering of colour is one of the foundations to successful painting. In this one day workshop you will learn about colour values and how to successfully mix colours with several exciting techniques to try. Discover the universal language of colour and it’s emotions. Understand the importance of contrasting and complimentary colours and learn some easy techniques to get you started in painting successfully with colour. Course notes will be provided.
Mixed Media Workshop - One day course Sunday, 12 September 2010, 10am to 4pm Cost: $95
Use texture to add interest and depth to your painting. Experiment with a variety of innovative techniques and media including paper, building materials, fabrics, old paintings, and natural materials. Try out some non-traditional methods of applying paint and explore the use of drawing materials to add accents and interest to your artwork. Course notes will be provided.

Location
All classes will be held at Tresillian, 21 Tyrell St in Nedlands. Childcare is available for Tuesday mornings classes on-site.
